In the framework of Med-Mem project, the safeguard of audiovisual archives appears to be a major issue. Beyond the expertise sharing among Mediterranean broadcasters, the training “Realizing and implementing an audiovisual archives safeguard plan” will aim at defining a methodology of approach and suggesting some technical and organizational orientations (Inventories and definition of audiovisual collections’ volumetry, contents cartography and audiovisual collections’ physical conditions; evaluation of available means and resources, technical solutions…) regarding the setting up of archives safeguard strategies through digitization. The results of this training will enable to enrich the content of the future audiovisual archives’ safeguard manual.
