This multilingual, postgraduate academic programme has been specifically designed to enhance the reporting skills of journalists on Climate Change and environment related issues.

Preserving biodiversity – A new webinar for journalists about environmental issues

COPEAM and its partner ICO Solutions continue to support the work of journalists in reporting about environmental and climate related issues. On November 30, a webinar was co-organized around biodiversity challenges in view of the 2022 U.N. Biodiversity Conference (COP15), taking place in Canada in December. E-learning course “Reporting Climate Change” – 2022 edition
October-December 2022
As part of the of the collaboration with the EIB-European Investment Bank, a new edition of the training for journalists dedicated to climate change started in October to be ended in December 2022. Accessible 24/7 on the e-learning platform of the International Telematic University Uninettuno, partner of the project, this course counts 5 learning modules available in English, French and Arabic, as well as a rich bibliography and sitography on the topic.

COPEAM-EIB transnational newsroom in the framework of the COP27

In the framework of the partnership with the EIB-European Investment Bank, COPEAM set up a transnational newsroom to produce news reports about the COP27 World Conference on Climate Change (Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt), under the coordination of a senior international expert and with the support of a local production team.

NEW EDITION OF THE JOURNALISM TRAINING “REPORTING CLIMATE CHANGE”: CALL FOR PARTICIPATION NOW OPEN
Climate change is considered as the “defining issue of our time”. In a time when trustworthy information is at stake, citizens need to be aware about the impact of climate change and the mitigation and adaptation strategies that can be implemented.

The new call for candidatures for the “Reporting climate change” online training course is open to journalists from the MENA region, the Balkans and the Gulf (deadline: April 30, 2021).

ICO Solutions – #WEBINAIRE: “Media and environment: witnessing the challenges and solutions in the Mediterranean”
As part of the ICO Solutions’ event dedicated to the major issues related to islands, coasts and oceans preservation, the organizers and COPEAM offered a unique webinar for Mediterranean journalists, in order to discuss the links between the media and environmental actors. A dialogue involving 12 COPEAM’s broadcasters and 9 additional organizations to strengthen knowledge, skills and mutual networks related to challenges of biodiversity and island resilience, ecological restoration, relationship between biodiversity and industry, or even environmental journalism practices.
