The seminar – jointly organised by INA and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, with the support of the French Embassy in Egypt, ASBU, COPEAM, FIAT/IFTA, and CMCA – was held in Alexandria (Egypt), on 19th and 20th June. VINC, the international all-news channels meeting 2007


Following the success of the past two editions, COPEAM and RaiNews24 are organising the third edition of the international all-news channels meeting that will be held in Venice (Italy), on the 31st March 2007, and focused on the topic: “All-news channels in the global information era: identity, cooperation, competition”.

A meeting that has been consolidating during the years, starting from Venice in 2005, were the Iraqi conflict issue, the difficulties to accessreliable information and the journalists’ security conditions in the war zones were discussed. COPEAM in Berlin: an ERN-MED window on EUROMED Audiovisual II first Regional Conference


The first Regional Conference of EUROMED Audiovisual II Programme, financed by the European Commission, took place on 10th and 11th February 2007 in Berlin, in the framework of the Berlin International Film Festival.

A preliminary workshop, held on 8th and 9th February, was devoted to the “Fight against piracy” and gathered important authorities of the audiovisual sector from both MEDA countries and Europe. ASBU/COPEAM/EBU TRIPARTITE MEETING 2006


The ASBU/COPEAM/EBU Tripartite meeting took place in Tunis on 16th December 2006, within the framework of the 26th General Assembly of ASBU.
The meeting began under the presidency of Mr. Habib Chawki Hamraoui, reelected President of ASBU for a new 2-year mandate.
All the participants have demonstrated their sincerest thanks to Mr Abdelhafid Harguem – who ended his mandate as Director General – for his involvement and his energy which contributed to the success of many common initiatives.

COPEAM AT THE E.U. MEETING “EUROPE IN VISION”


COPEAM has been invited to participate in a European Conference organised in Helsinki (Finland),
on 4th and 5th December, by the Finnish E.U. Presidency and the European Commission (DG
Communication): “EUROpe in VISION – Towards a European Public Sphere: EU, the Media and the New Technologies”. The Secretary General took part as panellist in one of the four main workshops (“New broadcasters, new audience?”) introducing to the E.C. a “threelevel communication strategy” proposal (divulgation, information, institutional).

COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN COPEAM AND THE ANNA LINDH FOUNDATION


COPEAM and the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures have formalized
a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering their relationships within the framework of the EUROMED Partnership.
The agreement was signed by the Secretary General of COPEAM, Mrs. Alessandra Paradisi

THE EUROMED CIVIL FORUM 2006


From the 4th to the 7th November the Euromed non-governmental Platform has organised, in cooperation with the Euromed Platform in Morocco, the 2006 Euromed Civil Forum, for the
first time held in the Southern shore of the Mediterranean, in Marrakech, thanks to the support of the E.C. and by Finland, in the frame of the EU Presidency.

CONFERENCE ON THE EURO-MEDITERRANEAN PARTNERSHIP Organised by the Arab League


On the 31st October 2006, the 5th edition of the meeting “The Euro-Mediterranean” devoted to
“The Euro-Mediterranean Partnership: disillusions and hopes”, has been organised in Tunis by the
League of the Arab States.
