COPEAM for the 2017 Mediterranean Journalist Award

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Mediterranean Journalist Awards, COPEAM has renewed its partnership with the Anna Lindh Foundation being part again of the international Jury in charge of selecting the works in competition.
The preselected journalists were invited to the awarding ceremony, which took place in Brussels, at the premises of the European Parliament, last December 6, where the winners for each category (press, online, TV/Radio, photography) were announced and rewarded by HRH Princess Rym Ali of Jordan.

PLURAL+ Video Festival: COPEAM special prize 2017
As in the past, COPEAM supports the 2017 edition of PLURAL+ Video Festival, organized by UNAOC and IOM in cooperation with a wide number of international partners. The main goal of this worldwide competition is to give voice to young video makers wishing to express their experiences and thoughts on migration, diversity and social inclusion.
Over 320 short videos from 67 countries have competed this year in the three age categories (9-12, 13-17, 18-25). COPEAM will award its special prize to “Can you see the future?” by Ismet Kale (Turkey) with the following motivation:

COPEAM at Lectorinfabula and Materadio 2017 with its Radio Commission
Upon invitation of the Lectorinfabula Festival, the new season of MusicaMed (weekly music radio programme) was presented in Conversano (Italy) last 15 and 16 September.
It was an opportunity to announce the new format of this COPEAM magazine and to promote the new Mediterranean music landscape during a “street music aperitif” in the city and a DJ set on Saturday night, with the participation of some producers of the programme from Italy (Marzia Puleo, Rai Sicile), Morocco (Amine Berrahou, SNRT) and Croatia (Davor Pejić, HRT-Radio Rijeka).

World Radio Day 2017: RADIO IS YOU
The 2017 edition of the World Radio Day was announced. As a member of the organizing committee, COPEAM joins UNESCO in inviting all member radios to take part, next 13 February, to this global event and to celebrate radio and its impact on our lives.

COPEAM Residency – The Utopia of the Mediterranean

In partnership with the Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019 (promoter of Matera 2019 European Capital of Culture), the Fondazione Sassi and the Italian Representation of the European Commission, and in the framework of the sixth edition of MATERADIO, the festival of RAI Radio 3 devoted this year to “Utopias and Dystopias”, COPEAM organized a journalistic residency which took place from 21 to 25 September in this town of the Basilicata region (Italy).

COPEAM renews, for the 2016 edition, its support to the PLURAL+ Video Festival, organized by UNAOC and IOM, in cooperation with a wide number of international partners. The Mediterranean short films land on the “Cinema Island” of Rome

On June 16, on the Tiber Island in Rome, in the framework of the XXII edition of the Island of Cinema, “A premiere Vue” was premiered: an initiative promoted by COPEAM and the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO in collaboration with the three schools of cinema and television associated to COPEAM (ALBA – Lebanon, ESAV – Morocco and ESAC – Tunisia), with the aim of promoting the first works of young filmmakers of these Mediterranean countries.
