Orgaqnized with the City of Rome and in media partnership with COPEAM , the Diversity for Life campaign calls for nominations for the Second Annual Celebration of the Guardians of Diversity in the Mediterranean.
The objective of the initiative is to recognize the achievements of individuals around the Mediterranean that have made an important contribution to safeguarding agricultural biodiversity in the region.

| “Diversity for Life” is a global campaign coordinated by Bioversity International to inspire a new appreciation of agricultural biodiversity and to inspire people to become Guardians of Diversityby celebrating the unsung contributions of individual farmers, scientists and others to conserving the diversity of plants and animals that are so critical to food security.</p> | |||

| Diversity for Life will culminate in 2010, the International Year of Biodiversity, with a wide range of activities targeting policymakers, schools and the media.</p> | |||

| In the framework of “La Settimana della Biodiversità” - the weeklong celebration of biodiversity in music, video and art - on 22nd May at 18.00 the Award Ceremony of the Guardians of Diversity in the Mediterranean took place.<br /> | |||

| COPEAM was part of the Jury for the selection of the “2010 Guardians of Diversity in the Mediterranean”. After an attentive evaluation of the submitted candidatures, the Jury designated the following winners:</p> | |||
