The meeting agenda also included, among the political activities jointly carried out by the three Unions, the follow-up of the action launched in 2008 towards the European Institutions in favour of EUROMED Audiovisual Programme continuance. On this subject, the conclusions of the closing meeting of the Programme 2nd phase (Cairo, November 2009) have been reported, with a special focus on the possible launch, by the E.C., of the 3rd phase in 2009.
In the training field, the 4th edition of ASBU-COPEAM seminar on new TV formats’ writing, to be held at ASBU TC in Damascus, as well as the 2009 University of COPEAM in Taghit (Algeria) have been both announced.
Concerning TV co-productions, the Director General of ASBU and the Secretary General of COPEAM, after an update about the first series’ broadcast, have launched Inter-Rives II: Glances of children.
The meeting has been closed by the presentation of two projects financed by the European Commission: Med-Mem – on-line publication of the Euro-Mediterranean audiovisual patrimony, an activity headed by INA and gathering partners members of the three networks - and Euromed News, a COPEAM-ASBU-UER common initiative - led by France Télévisions – aimed at informing the South-Mediterranean populations on the cooperation relationships between the E.U. and its neighbour countries.
