The meeting of the Radio Commission of COPEAM on the 27th October 2006 in Porto Vecchio (France) has marked a founding stage through the launching of the first Mediterranean radio coproduction, dedicated to the theme « Portraits of Legendary footballers ».
By now, a second series dedicated to the « Mythical Harbours of the Mediterranean » is soon going to be crowned.
Piloted by France Bleu Frequenza Mora and based on the basket principle – according to which each radio registers its own episodes and receive in exchange the complete series realised by all the other partners – those coproductions are the result of constant exchanges, meetings and synergies settled by the professionals involved.
Mainly aiming at encouraging the cooperation within the Euro-Mediterranean Region in the field of Radio – essential media notably in some Southern Region – the objective of those coproductions is to increase the understanding and reciprocal knowledge between the different countries and people of the Mediterranean space and to make the different sensitivities, know-how and techniques of the audiovisual professionals cross, while preserving the specificities of each of them.
The second coproduction : «The Mythical Harbours of the Mediterranean»
Strong from the experience of the first coproduction, the Radio Commission of COPEAM gathered in Tunis in February 2008, then in Bucharest in May 2008, has launched with enthusiasm the second series on the theme « The Myhtical Harbours of the Mediterranean ». It is still under the line production of France Bleu Frequenza Mora and this time, with the financial contribution of Radio Tunisienne, RAI International and Radio Algérienne.
This second stage is fundamental to achieve the planned objectives, that are the reinforcement and the growth of the radio cooperation within the Euromed Region. The Mediterranean mythical harbours, places of passing, sharing, exchange, narrations, intercultural dialogue, places that have been linking all the Mediterranean countries for centuries, have been chosen as guide theme for their capacity to tell their stories, their story.
The participations have mainly been collected during fall 2008 – 12 partners have already confirmed their concourse in the realisation – the recordings have also been initiated during that same period and some episodes have been finished.
In 2009, two phases have marked the achievement of the co-production, realized by 11partners (the national public radios of Algeria, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Romania, Tunisia, Turkey): the meeting held in Rome last 19th January, thanks to RAI’s invitation and under the Presidency of Robert Kudelka (Director of France Bleu Frequenza Mora) and a Workshop on radio production hosted by the Radio Tunisienne, on the 16th and 17th March. This has represented the opportunity for the participants to experiment a multicultural approach to the different techniques of realization and of mixing in the framework of the co-production
