COPEAM and the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures have formalized
a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering their relationships within the framework of the EUROMED Partnership.
The agreement was signed by the Secretary General of COPEAM, Mrs. Alessandra Paradisi
and the Executive Director of ALF, Mr. Traugott Schöfthaler on last 23rd November, during
the Conference organized in Essen (Germany) by WDR, ZDF, France Télévisions and EBU and devoted to “Migration and Integration - Europe´s big challenge. What role do the media play?”
The agreement, whose operational period goes until the end of August 2008, is focused on the following main areas: organization of international activities involving journalists and other professional
audiovisual categories from the countries of the EUROMED Region; preparation of the European
Year for the Dialogue between Cultures (2008); exchanges of best practices in the Mediterranean
area, also through the Media, essential vectors for mutual knowledge and key instruments for reaching out to civil societies at large; setting up of projects on women as promoters of intercultural dialogue in the Media; promotion of all common initiatives towards the main audiovisual operators of
the Mediterranean Region.
