In the framework of the action of support promoted by COPEAM in 2008 concerning the continuation of the EU EUROMED Audiovisual Programme, the Ministers have announced in their conclusions that a new Euro-Mediterranean audiovisual programme could be launched in 2009. This programme will be based on the principles of the previous ones and on the new strategy of development of the Mediterranean audiovisual sector that was approved at the Conference of the Ministers of Culture held in Athens in May 2008.
Recognising the audiovisual media as “excellent vehicles for intercultural dialogue between the Euro-Mediterranean countries”, the Ministers have placed the Audiovisual sector among the key means which are necessary for the strengthening of the partnership in the Mediterranean area.
