Malta, 29 September - 3 October, 2014
The first training workshop on cultural journalism, organised by COPEAM and PBS, was held in Malta from 29 September to 3 October, 2014. 11 journalists from RTVSH/Albania, GPB/Georgia, RAI/Italia, PBS/Malta, PBC/Palestine, Radio Romania, TVR/Romania and TRT/Turkey participated in this 4-day practical workshop and produced together a 9-minute TV news package and a radio feature about some current and forthcoming cultural events taking place in Malta: the annual "Notte Bianca”, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, experimental dance performances, etc.
Guided by the 3 experts appointed to this initiative, Derek Thomson (France24), Yasar Kefeli (TRT) and Godfrey Smith (PBS), the trainees - grouped in teams -defined the news formats, shot the interviews around Malta, wrote the news scripts, selected useful archive images and edited the video material so to achieve a final journalistic output.
