NEW RADIO CO-PRODUCTIONS


On February 20 and 21, ASBU and COPEAM brought together in Tunis the co-producers of the new radio series dedicated to ancient and contemporary arab philosophers.

The meeting provided an opportunity to collectively define the cooperation and editorial frameworks for this unique podcast series.

This ambitious project gathers 15 public radio broadcasters from Europe and the MENA region: Algeria – Egypt – France – Irak – Jordan – Lebanon – Mauritania – Morocco – Palestine – Qatar – Saudi Arabia – Soudan – Spain – Tunisia – Turkey.

“RADIO bridges – Joint actions for the climate”

Radio plays a vital role in educating, raising awareness and mobilizing on climate issues. As part of the 2025 World Radio Day and with the support of UNESCO, COPEAM is launching the first edition of the international contest: Radio bridges – Joint actions for the climate.

The competition aims to promote and support exchanges between radios around the world that encourage local and global solutions to this planetary emergency, while emphasizing collaboration, innovation and the promotion of intercultural dialogue.

COPEAM and RAI join forces once again in the field of digitization of audiovisual archives


Two years after the important training “Digitization of Audiovisual Archives”, hosted by Rai in Rome in 2022 in collaboration with COPEAM and with over 20 beneficiaries from the network (Balkans and MENA Region), an update webinar will be held in February and March 2025, open to the same group of participants and to their colleagues from the AV archives departments.

RAI experts from different sectors such as Archives, Technologies, ICT and CRITS (Centre for Research, Technological Innovation and Experimentation) will once again be involved, animating 2 online sessions.

An international consortium of journalists’ unions, public service broadcasters and diversity groups has launched new guidelines and a checklist to support media professionals to produce ethical and fair reporting fully inclusive of society.

The General Assembly of COPEAM, held in Naples on April 19 2024, was called to elect the new governance of the Association for the next two-year mandate.

TRT Strengthens Its Global Broadcasting Network with Membership in the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU)

TRT, Türkiye’s public service media, has strengthened its international presence by becoming an associate member of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU). The decision was made unanimously during ASBU’s 44th General Assembly, held in Tunis on January 15, 2025, with nearly 200 delegates in attendance.

ASBU, a prominent organization comprising 41 members, categorizes its membership into “active members,” “participating members,” and “associate members.” While active membership is exclusive to Arab countries, TRT’s inclusion as an associate member reflects its growing influence in the region.
