The new radio series “Arab Philosophers – Ancient and Contemporary,” promoted by COPEAM and ASBU, is ready for broadcast. After a long and meticulous process of research and writing, the 16 Arabic-speaking radio stations from the MENA region, Southern Europe and the Gulf countries have completed the realization of the 27 episodes of this co-production, which retraces the history of Arab philosophical thought from the 10th century to the present, highlighting the cultural, intellectual and scientific exchanges and influences between civilizations over the centuries.
Averroes, Al-Farabi, Ibn Khaldun, Avicenna, Malek Bennabi and Mohamed Al Jabri are only some of the 27 philosophers presented through the voices of experts and academics.
Starting in January 2026, from Tunisia to France, from Qatar to Spain, from Egypt to Turkey, the episodes will be broadcast on partners’ radio stations across 16 countries. A shared visual communication kit has been developed to boost the promotion of this transnational radio event.
This is an unprecedented cultural and radio cooperation initiative, due to the scale and diversity of the target audience as well as the significance of the topic addressed. A true intercultural dialogue project, in which the participating radio broadcasters have joined forces to disseminate and share knowledge of a cultural heritage that belongs to everyone.
