San Miniato (Tuscany), 13 December 2025
The story of inclusion and personal growth of Helliot, a professional dancer with Down syndrome living in Seville, is at the heart of the documentary “Dancing Free” by TVE, which was awarded, together with “Life mask” by Télévision Tunisienne, as Best Documentary of the COPEAM/ASBU TV Coproduction Inter-Rives 10: The Power of Art: Creativity for Change.
The film director Clara Blásquez Vizuete (RTVE/Spain) received the prize in the framework of a public event organized at Palazzo Grifoni in collaboration with the Municipalities of Vinci and San Miniato and the UNESCO Club of Vinci. The prize was once again awarded in memory of Pier Luigi Malesani, former Secretary General of COPEAM.
The public event welcomed many students from local high schools and included screenings of three selected documentaries from the Inter-Rives 10 collection. The event was enriched by a panel discussion featuring the audiovisual experts Stefania Ippoliti, Head of the Mediateca and Cinema Department of Fondazione Sistema Toscana; Alberto Lastrucci, Head of the Festival dei Popoli Archive; Leonardo Casalini, Director of the Centro Cinema Taviani; and Claudio Cappon, Secretary General of COPEAM.
