TV co-productions

Inter-Rives (Between the shores) is an international TV co-production project open to the televisions members of COPEAM and ASBU (Arab States Broadcasting Union). It aims at producing a documentary TV series covering a cultural or social topic that is relevant to the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Each co-producing broadcaster produces a documentary and, according to the “basket formula”, acquires the rights to transmit free of charge the whole series.

Under the supervision of a coordination team - composed of an executive producer and two experts from both the north and the south of the Mediterranean - all the film directors assigned to the project participate in 2 co-production workshops: one devoted to the sharing of the work methods and for the topics selection; the second one focused on the screening of the in-progress productions and on the pre-editing work.

Once decided the specific topic of each documentary, each film director starts working autonomously to his/her documentary, by respecting the production and editorial general rules and recommendations shared in the framework of the first workshop.

Finally, all the accomplished TV products are provided to the co-producing broadcasters that will be allowed to put the whole series or just a selection of it (according to each one’s programming needs) on the air.
